About Tofarget
Tofarget is a chart book for two-colour Norwegian stranded knitting (tofarget mønsterstrikk) — lusekofter, Marius and Setesdal sweaters, yoke jumpers, Selbu mittens and hats. It tracks your row and round, reads the current row out as colour runs, catches long floats, checks whether a repeat fits your stitch count, and keeps every project's chart, yarn and photos on your device.
Frequently asked questions
Row done moved the marker to the wrong row
Tap the undo key next to Round done to step back one row, then tap Round done again once you're on the right one. In the round, rows read right to left; for flat projects the direction alternates each row, which you can check in Project detail under "In the round / Flat".
A float keeps being flagged in red
Open the Floats sheet from the Chart tab to see every run longer than your limit, with the row, its length and a suggested stitch to catch it at. You can raise or lower the float limit (5 stitches by default) in Settings or directly in the Floats sheet.
My repeat doesn't divide my stitch count
Open the Fit tab, enter your round's stitch count and repeat width, and Tofarget shows the nearest counts that divide evenly, with how many stitches to increase or decrease and where. Add a steek there too, if your project needs one.
Can I get my chart out of the app?
Yes — open the export menu on the Chart tab to share a PNG image or a printable PDF grid through the system share sheet.
Does Tofarget need an internet connection?
No. Tofarget makes no network requests and works fully offline; all your projects and charts are stored only on your device.
